The Gift
A local independent lifeboat crew working off the coast of Conamara, receives a distress call on a stormy night to discover a dead woman on board an abandoned fishing boat with a cargo of over a million euros worth of drugs. The crew is challenged with a moral dilemma – whether to bring the woman ashore and hand the drugs to the authorities, or leave the passenger and sell the drugs to save their struggling village. It's a decision that will change their lives forever. Documentary filmmaker Tom Collins's second fiction feature, a 'Celtic Noir' thriller, premiered at Galway Film Fleadh 2014.
