Minnesota in 1990. Detective Bruce Kenner is investigating the case of Angela, a young woman who has accused her father, John Gray, of having sexually abused her. When John, unexpectedly and without being able to recall what happened, admits his guilt, the renowned psychologist Dr Raines gets involved in the case in order to help his repressed memories to resurface. Thus, begins the disturbing tale of a father and daughter torn apart, thrown into the centre of a sinister conspiracy that shocks the nation.
